To say Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White is looking ahead to the week one matchup with the Washington Commanders may be an understatement.
The Buccaneers face the Commanders and their first-round draft pick quarterback Jayden Daniels to start the season. White is understandably looking forward to playing against a team led by his former college teammate from Arizona State.
White recently appeared on the Jim Rome Show were he talked about how he’d like to welcome Daniels into the league.
“It’s crazy, our first game, I tell ’em we got to put belt-to-ass, but that’s just how it goes, you know what I’m saying,” White stated when asked about the week one showdown with Daniels and the Washington Commanders. “It’s just good competition, it’s great competition… it’s cool though. His first loss will come from me.”
White noted that he knows the team shouldn’t overlook Daniels and the Commanders. Washington took Daniels high in the draft and all reports out if Commanders’ camp is he’s exceeding expectations. With preseason right around the corner, White and the Buccaneers are inching ever closer to “welcoming” The rookie into the league.
