Buccaneers Make Series of Roster Moves Including Addressing the Randy Gregory Situation

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a series of roster moves Tuesday following the opening day of training camp. Including addressing the Randy Gregory situation.

Via the team’s website,

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has placed quarterback Zack Annexstad and tight end Tanner Taula on the Active/Non-Football Injury list. Both players will count toward the 90-player roster limit and are eligible to be activated at any time prior to the 53-player roster cuts.

In addition, the club has placed outside linebacker Randy Gregory on the Reserve/Did Not Report list.”

Gregory also missed mandatory minicamp earlier this offseason. It appears the Randy Gregory story in Tampa is over before it started. The Buccaneers signed Gregory back in April.

Via our very own Devin Sanguinett,

“At this point, I think I am ready to be done with him. I was quite satisfied with his signing, not happy, but not mad. On paper, it seemed like a perfect depth piece while Braswell developed. But this baggage is getting annoying and is distracting from practice. If he isn’t going to show up for practice and training camp, he doesn’t deserve a roster spot.”

If the team were to totally cut ties with Gregory it wouldn’t do much damage to their salary cap. The Buccaneers signed free agent outside linebacker Randy Gregory to a one-year deal for $3 million dollars with the ability to earn up to $2 million more by hitting his incentives.
