The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue tweaking their roster ahead of their season opener against the Washington Commanders.
As reported by Fox Sports Greg Auman, the Buccaneers have released center Avery Jones and will sign offensive tackle Raiqwon O’Neal to their practice squad.
“Bucs are signing tackle Raiqwon O’Neal to their practice squad and releasing center Avery Jones. O’Neal was with them in preseason last year but was claimed by the Seahawks.”
Confirmation from the team’s website,
“On Tuesday, the Buccaneers signed O’Neal, a second-year offensive tackle out of UCLA, to its practice squad. To make room on that 17-man unit, the team released rookie center Avery Jones.”
O’Neal was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers and UCLA in 2023 by the Bucs. After preseason last year he was signed off of the Bucs practice squad by the Seattle Seahawks. He appeared in three games for the Seahawks in 2023.
