Well I feel like I just saw three games and took a few years off my life at the same time.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took the opening kickoff and scored a touchdown for the third straight week. Then they jump up by 14 after a scoop and score by Antoine Winfield Jr. Bucs had a chance to go up 21 but Baker Mayfield missed Mike Evans in the endzone so they settle for a FG and go up 17 zip.
At this point I’m feeling great and relaxed but apparently so were the Bucs. Saints score 27 points in every way possible. Buccaneers go into halftime down 27 to 24.
That 2nd quarter felt like all the Bad Buc collapses I’d ever witnessed all rolled up into one.
However, if you rewatch the game, you’ll see a key sequence on the Saints last possession. Todd unleashed a series of pressures that confused the Spencer Rattler. This was right after the third Interception thrown by Baker.
Todd continued to employ this high pressure defense and New Orleans had no answers.
On Offense, Chris Godwin took a check down pass and scampered into the end zone and they never looked back.
The Buccaneers leaned heavily on their running game to the tune of 277 yards. The duo of the Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving were unstoppable.
Bucs win Bucs win Bucs win! Lots to review with this game but with the Ravens up next, a running game is just the elixur needed.
