Captain’s Table/Walk the Plank: Buccaneers vs Ravens

0

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to the Baltimore Ravens 41-31 Monday night at Raymond James Stadium. That can only mean it’s time for Carter Brantley’s weekly article “Captain’s Table/Walk the Plank”. Enjoy!

Walk the Plank:

The National Anthem

Sorry Michael Ray, I don’t know you and am sure you’re a perfectly pleasant individual, but by golly that was a brutal rendition of the anthem. It’s also “O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave,” not “For the land of the free…” C’mon man.

Having a grown man do the helmet shuffle thing

Let’s leave that to the kids, huh?

Baker Mayfield

By golly he can’t seem to stop throwing it to the other fucking team. It’s been rough to watch.

The Buccaneers’ defense

I get it, they were without Jamel Dean and the Ravens are really good. But they looked lifeless after that 1st drive. Lamar and Derrick Henry can do whatever they want against anyone, butthey really could against the Bucs.

The 2nd quarter

Yeah. First the Saints game, now this one. Yikes.

Captain’s Table:

Night games at Raymond James

What an atmosphere, what gorgeous weather, wow. I understand how fantastic winter football is in the afternoon, but this might end up being the prettiest game the Bucs play in all season. Plus, let me tell you, in the first quarter, the crowd was absolutely HOPPING. Shoutout Tampa Bay.

The Monday Night Football atmosphere

Hey, I get that this is basically a repeat of the last point, but I’m stretching here for some positives, the Bucs need it. The atmosphere of this game was fantastic, with legends like Bruce Arians, Derrick Brooks, and Gronk showing up and showing out. The fans were a blast, and it was just a wonderful place to watch a football game on a Monday night. Plus, I’ll never get tired of getting to see our beautiful city featured on the national stage. 813 for life, am I right?

The Bucs’ introduction videos and presentations

“The Raid” wasn’t super needle-moving for me when they first premiered it in Week 1, although the video was super cool and Tampa Bay-focused. But under the red lights at night time? Ok, yeah, I get it. The drums were cool, as was everything else, and the video still kicks ass. Ybor, the beaches, the Skyway, give me all of the pandering to locals, I don’t care, it’s awesome.

Tyrek Funderburk’s name

Funderburk is such a fantastic name.

The 1st quarter

What a start, eh? Too bad they couldn’t just call the game after 1 quarter.
