Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin suffered a brutal ankle injury in the team’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens Monday night. Tuesday the injury was diagnosed as a dislocated ankle by multiple sources.
It’s now Wednesday and we have a better idea of the treatment required and the duration Godwin will be out of action.
“Bucs WR Chris Godwin is having surgery today to repair his dislocated ankle. Going into it, tests were as good as they could’ve been, sources say.
No one knows how long TB’s season will last, but there is even an outside possibility Godwin returns. Not likely. But slight.”
Rapoport insinuates there is a “slight” chance Godwin could return if the Buccaneers make a playoff run. I’d say looking at how severe the injury was that that’s a bit of a pie in the sky belief. But if Godwin and this team has taught us anything the last few years, it’s that anything is possible.
Stay tuned, we’ll update Godwin’s status as new information becomes available.
