Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs had an MRI done Monday to diagnosis the severity of his hamstring injury suffered in the team’s 23-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The results of the MRI are in, and it’s not as bad as previously expected.
Via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport,
“Bucs Pro Bowl LT Tristan Wirfs was diagnosed with an MCL sprain, source said after the MRI. A positive development. He’s out a couple of weeks, but sigh of relief its not a worse injury.”
This is the best news possible for the Bucs and Wirfs. A “couple” of weeks is something the team can work around. Especially with this being a bye week.
