The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting the band back together. OK, reuniting the Gravediggers is a more accurate description.
On Wednesday the team announced the return of safety Mike Edwards.
“Veteran safety Mike Edwards, who was waived by the Titans on Wednesday is rejoining the team that drafted him in 2019 and for whom he won the first of his two Super Bowl rings.”
“On Thursday, the Buccaneers were awarded Edwards on a waiver claim after he was waived by the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. That reunites the sixth-year safety with the team that drafted him in the third round in 2019. The Bucs had an open spot on the 53-man roster after waiving first-year cornerback Keenan Isaac.”
Edwards reunites with safeties Antoine Winfield Jr and Jordan Whitehead. The trio known “The Gravediggers” during their run with the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory of the Kansas City Chiefs is now back together.
The team waived defensive back Keenan Isaac to make room for Edwards.
