The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head into Carolina to take on the Panthers Sunday at 4:05pm. Unfortunately they will do so without the services of safety Jordan Whitehead.
“A pectoral injury suffered in the Bucs’ win over the Giants in Week 12 will force safety Jordan Whitehead to miss at least four games…His roster spot was filled by a promotion of linebacker Vi Jones from the practice squad.”
Whitehead’s absence leaves a hole in the Buccaneers secondary. The team will most likely use recently acquired safety Mike Edwards or backup Christian Izien to fill the void.
“Whitehead will miss at least the next four games after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed him on injured reserve on Friday due to a pectoral injury suffered on Sunday in a game against the New York Giants. Players put on injured reserve must miss at least four games before being eligible to return to the active roster. The Buccaneers have six games remaining in the regular season.”
In a corresponding move the team promoted linebacker Vi Jones to fill Whitehead’s roster spot.
