Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn is signing with the San Francisco 49ers to join their practice squad.

Running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn, a 5-10, 214-pound native of Nashville, Tennessee, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round (76th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Over his four-year NFL career, Vaughn has played in 43 games (one start), rushing for 384 yards and two touchdowns on 103 carries, while also catching 14 passes for 81 yards and one touchdown.
In 2023, Vaughn appeared in six games, carrying the ball 24 times for 42 yards and adding two receptions for two yards. He joined the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad on August 29, 2024, but was released on November 12.
Vaughn played college football at the University of Illinois (2015-2017) before transferring to Vanderbilt University, where he had a successful three-year stint (2017-2020). During his time at Vanderbilt, Vaughn started 29 games, rushing for 3,296 yards and 30 touchdowns on 572 carries, while also catching 67 passes for 664 yards and three touchdowns.
