Buccaneers Designate Veteran Safety To Return

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have designated safety Jordan Whitehead to return from Injured Reserve. This move starts his 21-day window to return to action.

Via the team’s website,

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today designated safety Jordan Whitehead for return from Injured Reserve. Whitehead begins his 21-day practice window today, and he is eligible to be activated at any time during the 21-day period.”

With this move, the team opens a three-week window for him to practice and regain his form. His recovery from a torn pectoral muscle has progressed without needing surgery, paving the way for his eventual return to the active roster. Whitehead, 27, was selected by the Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh.
