The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made two significant roster moves on Wednesday. They opened a 21-day practice window for cornerback Troy Hill to return from injured reserve, allowing him to work out with the team without counting against the 53-man roster limit. Hill, who has played in 121 games with 60 starts, was placed on injured reserve on December 6 due to foot and knee injuries.¹

Additionally, the Buccaneers signed veteran defensive tackle Adam Gotsis to their practice squad. Gotsis brings a wealth of experience, having played in 126 career games with 54 starts. He has recorded 226 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 43 quarterback hits throughout his career.

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing on into the postseason, which means midweek roster maneuverings will continue, as well. On Wednesday, the Buccaneers designated cornerback Troy Hill for return from injured reserve and signed defensive tackle Adam Gotsis to the practice squad.”

Troy Hill initially joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 30, starting on the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster on November 18. Hill saw brief action in two games, contributing on special teams, but his stint was cut short due to foot and knee injuries. He was subsequently placed on injured reserve on December 6, missing the required minimum of four games. With five games now under his belt since the injury, Hill is eligible to return to practice, paving the way for his potential comeback.

Hill’s NFL journey began as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015. Since then, he has played for several teams, including the Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With 121 games and 60 starts under his belt, Hill brings a wealth of experience to the field.

During his five-year stint with the Rams, Hill established himself as a reliable starter, logging 51 starts and recording eight interceptions and 33 passes defensed. His standout 2020 season saw him start all 16 games, where he notched three interceptions, including two pick-sixes.

Adam Gotsis’s most recent NFL stint was with the Indianapolis Colts, where he played five games in September and December, recording eight tackles and two quarterback hits.

Gotsis was initially drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons with the Broncos, followed by another four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, before joining the Colts in September. Throughout his career, Gotsis has demonstrated his versatility and ability to contribute to various teams.

Throughout his NFL career, Adam Gotsis has accumulated an impressive resume, appearing in 126 games with 54 starts. Notably, he started seven games in 17 outings for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Gotsis’s statistics demonstrate his versatility and skill as a defensive player. His career numbers include:

– 226 tackles
– 10.5 sacks
– 43 quarterback hits
– 25 tackles for loss
– 22 passes defensed
– 3 forced fumbles
– 4 fumble recoveries

These achievements showcase Gotsis’s ability to make impactful plays and contribute to his team’s defensive efforts.
