Buccaneers Rachaad White Talks About New Offensive Coordinator

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to have their fourth offensive coordinator in four years, following Liam Coen’s departure to become the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach. However, the team didn’t have to look far for his replacement, promoting pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard to the role. The new offensive coordinator brings promising qualities to the position.

Buccaneers running back Rachaad White recently shared his thoughts on new offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard during an interview with Barstool Sports in New Orleans. White affectionately referred to Grizzard as “Grizz” and praised his wealth of experience, historical insight, and vast knowledge, which he believes will greatly benefit the team’s offense.

“Grizz is a swaggy dude,” White stated. “Obviously, been in Miami for three years. He comes over to take over as our passing game coordinator. Blew your mind, young, electric, the energy. He comes from a good tree. You can’t ever go wrong with that.”

White’s response also revealed another noteworthy sentiment. He expressed his hope that Grizzard would bring stability to the position, implicitly referencing the team’s recent coordinator turnover. Additionally, White briefly alluded to his own uncertain future with the team.

“Todd Bowles has been very good at hiring OCs lately. Hopefully Grizz can stay around — and me, too. I’m in my fourth year. Me too.”

As White enters the final year of his contract, his future with the team remains uncertain. Unless a new deal is reached, he’ll be subject to potential cuts or trades in 2025. Although the Buccaneers appreciate White’s skills in pass protection and receiving, his rushing opportunities decreased significantly with the emergence of Bucky Irving last season.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding their long-term futures, Josh Grizzard and Rachaad White are poised to dedicate themselves to the Buccaneers in 2025, with their sights set on a common goal: bringing home a Super Bowl championship.
