A coaching veteran with over four decades of experience, Charlie Strong, 64, launched his career at the University of Florida in 1983. He went on to work at several institutions before returning to his alma mater as defensive coordinator under the guidance of legendary coach Urban Meyer.
Strong’s head coaching career took off in 2010 when he was hired by Louisville. He later made the move to Texas, where he served as head coach for three seasons before being let go. Strong then landed at the University of South Florida (USF), where he took the reins as head coach.
Following his stint at USF, Strong continued to build his coaching resume with various roles. In 2020, he served as a defensive analyst at Alabama, before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars as inside linebackers coach and assistant head coach in 2021. Strong then moved to Miami in 2022, where he worked as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. He returned to Alabama in 2023, reprising his role as a defensive analyst.

Caldwell comes to the Buccaneers after serving as the Las Vegas Raiders’ run game coordinator and linebackers coach in 2024. Previously, he spent two seasons as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive coordinator (2022-23), where he played a key role in shaping the team’s defensive success. Notably, the Jaguars’ defense led the NFL in passes defensed (95) and tied for fourth in takeaways (27) during the 2022 season under Caldwell’s leadership.

Hynson heads to Tampa as their new wide receivers coach, bringing him to Tampa Bay from Oregon State. Hynson spent seven seasons with the Beavers (2018-24), serving as pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach, and even took the reins as interim head coach for the final game of the 2023 season. Under his guidance, Oregon State receivers earned All-Pac-12 honors six times.
Hynson’s coaching career spans nearly two decades, with stops at Hawaii, Norfolk State, Montana, Yale, Western Washington, Minnesota State, Quincy, and Willamette. Notably, he crossed paths with new Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard during his time at Yale, where Grizzard played and Hynson served as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
