QB Connor Bazelak—Bowling Green
The Buccaneers have signed quarterback Connor Bazelak from Bowling Green . The 25-year-old Bazelak is a smart and efficient passer known for his quick decision-making and ability to manage the pace of the offense. With extensive college experience at Missouri, Indiana, and Bowling Green, Bazelak has proven to be a leader capable of moving the chains and intelligently navigating the pocket.
Strengths :
- Good pocket management.
- Ability to work in West Coast style offenses.
- Experience in different offensive systems.
Weaknesses :
- Limited arm and balls that lose power on long trajectories.
- History of injuries, especially to the knees.
Bazelak arrives as an interesting prospect for the QB3 position in Tampa, ideal for working in Josh Grizzard’s system.
RB Josh Williams — LSU
Another backfield reinforcement: The Bucs have finalized the signing of LSU running back Josh Williams . Williams earned his spot through hard work, going from walk-on to a key part of the Tigers. He’s a versatile and intelligent back , capable of producing both on the ground and in the air .
Strengths :
- Excellent vision and reading of blocks.
- Effective in passing situations, both as a receiver and as a protector of the QB.
- Contact balance and agility in tight spaces.
Weaknesses :
- Limited speed for explosive plays.
- Probably fit as part of a running committee.
Williams could be a valuable backcourt addition , ideal for third-down situations and bolstering special teams.
WR Garrett Greene—West Virginia
Originally a quarterback at West Virginia, Garrett Greene is changing positions in his leap to the NFL, moving to wide receiver. With his quickness and agility, the Buccaneers hope to develop his athleticism, although his lack of experience as a receiver raises questions. Greene brings attitude, work ethic, and a deep love for the game.
Strengths :
- Mobility and speed in open fields.
- Competitive spirit and team mentality.
Weaknesses :
- Very limited experience as a receiver.
- Reduced size for NFL standards.
WR Will Sheppard — Colorado
A transfer from Vanderbilt to Colorado, Will Sheppard is a big, experienced receiver who excels at running intermediate routes and is a threat in the red zone. While he lacks elite speed, his ability to fight contested balls makes him a useful target on third downs and inside the 20-yard line.
Strengths :
- Specialist in traffic and red zone receptions.
- Good route work and separation in short spaces.
Weaknesses :
- Lack of vertical explosiveness.
- Drop problems in 2023.
TE Anthony Landphere—Memphis
Anthony Landphere arrives after a path filled with administrative twists and turns with the NCAA. Despite not being able to take advantage of an extra year of eligibility, his impact in Memphis was notable. Landphere is a physical and reliable tight end, capable of blocking and serving as a pass-safe option.
Strengths :
- Consistency as a blocker.
- Safe hands on short trajectories.
Weaknesses :
- Athletically limited to be a vertical threat.
OL Jake Majors — Texas
Jake Majors is a true rock in the middle of the offensive line. With 56 consecutive starts in Texas, his durability and leadership are top-notch. Majors stands out for his football intelligence and ability to anchor the offensive line, ideal for teams looking for stability on the interior.
Strengths :
- High football IQ and adaptability in protection.
- Leader on and off the field.
Weaknesses :
- Physical limitations compared to more athletic tackles.
C Ben Scott — Nebraska
Ben Scott joins the Buccaneers after emerging as one of Nebraska’s top interior linemen. At 6-foot-5 and 288 pounds, Scott combined size, toughness, and athleticism, posting a 4.83 40-yard dash time at the combine. He finished his senior season leading the team in tackles for loss (12.5) and sacks (7).
Strengths :
- Good first step and lateral agility.
- Strength in the trench game.
- High durability and consistency.
Weaknesses :
- Camp body profile with limited potential to make an impact from day one.
T Ben Chukwuma—Georgia State
Nigerian Ben Chukwuma arrives in Tampa as an offensive tackle with good physical potential. At 6-foot-6 and 303 pounds, Chukwuma combines length (over 83 inches with a wingspan) with adequate athleticism. With 11 starts in 2024, he was a key part of a line that allowed only 18 sacks.
Strengths :
- Large size and long arm ideal for development.
- Experience playing on both sides of the line.
- Good engine in the ground game.
Weaknesses :
- Technique still needs polishing, especially in pass protection.
- Somewhat stiff movement against elite rushers.
DT Desmond Watson — Florida
Desmond Watson is one of the most fascinating signings of the UDFA process. At 6’5″ and over 460 pounds, Watson dominates the trenches like a human wall. His impressive ability to absorb double teams and surprising mobility for his size make him a valuable asset in short-yardage situations.
Strengths :
- Absolutely dominant size and strength.
- Incredible stamina (played every game in four years).

Buccaneers fit : Watson will be key in situations like the tush push and on short-yardage downs, providing a spectacular anchor for Todd Bowles’ defense.
LB John Bullock — Nebraska
John Bullock joins the Buccaneers to learn from one of the greats: Lavonte David. After a remarkable progression under Matt Rhule at Nebraska, Bullock recorded 70 tackles, 10 TFLs, one interception for a touchdown, and five passes defended in his final season.
Strengths :
- Solid defensive instincts and ability to cover in space.
- Excellent track record as a special teamer.
- Tireless work mentality.
Weaknesses :
- Limited athleticism against faster running backs.
- It takes time to adapt to the NFL pace.
Buccaneers fit : Bullock can contribute immediately on special teams and develop as a rotational linebacker under Lavonte David.
CB Roman Parodie — Ohio
Roman Parodie was a rotational piece in Ohio before becoming a starter in 2024, posting his career-high 51 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and 11 passes defensed. Parodie demonstrated a knack for pressure situations, endearing himself to Bobcats fans.
Strengths :
- Active hands and timing in passing situations.
- Aggressive in tight coverage.
- Good explosiveness measured at pro day (4.52 in the 40 yards).
Weaknesses :
- Long-term project, tryout profile with technical development needs.
- Somewhat light physique by NFL standards.
S Shilo Sanders — Colorado
Shilo Sanders , son of the legendary Deion Sanders, joins Tampa Bay after a six-year college football career. He stands out for his physicality and aggressiveness in the contact game, although he struggles in open field coverage.
Strengths :
- Extensive experience in various defensive systems.
- Intimidating physique and powerful in tackles.
- Good sense of smell for anticipating routes.
Weaknesses :
- Deficiencies in tackling technique, often looking for the big hit.
- Athletic limitations in changes of direction and reaction speed.
S JJ Roberts — Marshall
JJ Roberts joins the Bucs as an electric and explosive player from Marshall’s secondary. Having previously trained as a cornerback, he offers versatility, energy, and an immediate impact on special teams.
Strengths :
- Fluid hips and great range in coverage.
- Tireless engine and ultra-aggressive mentality.
- Ability to perform as a single-high or in intermediate zones.
Weaknesses :
- Improvable pursuit angles, can surpass the play.
- You need to refine your discipline to avoid costly mistakes.
Fit for Buccaneers : He can be an immediate addition on special teams and develop into a defensive role in the medium term.
K Ryan Coe — Cal
Ryan Coe arrives in Tampa as a veteran kicker with an impressive resume. Capable of consistently kicking field goals of over 50 yards, his leg strength is his main selling point.
Strengths :
- Outstanding accuracy at long distances (several FGs of 53 and 54 yards).
- Extensive experience in high-level programs (Delaware, Cincinnati, North Carolina, Cal).
- High percentage of touchbacks on kickoffs.
Weaknesses :
- Inconsistency in short sections in previous years.
- You need to stabilize your performance in pressure situations.
Buccaneers fit : Coe could immediately compete for the starting kicking job or bolster the depth chart with a kickoff powerhouse.

RB Tyler Echevery – Mount Union Football
Explosive running back Tyler Echeverry arrives as a walk-on to minicamp after a legendary career at Mount Union. In 2024, he led Division III with 1,714 rushing yards, 30 touchdowns, and 7.1 yards per carry.
With a 4.43 40-yard dash speed, Echeverry combines vision, acceleration, and an impeccable work ethic. His dream is to make his way into the NFL through hard work and passion. In Tampa, he’ll look to be the “steal” of the process.
Strengths:
- Competitive mindset and tireless passion ⚡
- Field vision and lateral agility 🔥
- Very high ground and air production 📈
QB Jordan McCloud – Texas State Football
Jordan McCloud, a veteran with experience at four D1 programs, will also participate in minicamp. In 2024, he threw for 3,227 yards and 30 touchdowns, showing accuracy (70.2% completions) and mobility (7 rushing TDs). McCloud is a dual-threat QB with extensive experience and good decision-making on the field, although he needs to improve his consistency and arm strength.
Strengths:
- Accuracy in short and intermediate passing 🎯
