Buccaneers Lavonte David: “I Always Feel Underrated”

Lavonte David, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend, has always flown under the radar, and he lets that fuel his performances on the field.

Lavonte David has been one of the NFL’s top off-ball linebackers since entering the league in 2012, pitting himself against elite players like Luke Kuechly, Patrick Willis, and Bobby Wagner. While Buccaneers fans recognize his greatness, David’s talents sometimes get overlooked in national discussions about consistently dominant players – a dynamic that seems to suit him just fine, helping him get in the right mindset for games.

David recently sat down with NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, where he was asked if he felt underrated.

“I always feel underrated when I’m out there,” David stated. “That’s why I’ve gotta go out there and prove myself every time. Ever since I came in the league, I never cared about being talked about much. I just always wanted to play the game the right way — just the love of the game for me.”

To Buccaneers fans, Lavonte David has always been appreciated, and he proved he still had it in his 13th season. Now, heading into year 14, he’ll keep showing the league why he’s deserving of a gold jacket when he retires.
