Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield won’t practice Friday due to a throwing hand contusion, reports say. He’s considered day-to-day by the team.

Mayfield hit his right hand on a shoulder pad during Thursday’s practice, causing a contusion, reports the Tampa Bay Times. Mayfield, who’s yet to miss a game in his two Pro Bowl seasons with the Buccaneers, will sit out Friday’s practice. Kyle Trask and Connor Bazelak will take over quarterbacking duties in his place. Mayfield’s status is listed as day-to-day after precautionary scans ruled out a more significant injury.

Mayfield, 30, achieved career highs last season with 4,500 passing yards and 41 touchdowns in 17 games, completing 71.4% of his passes, a personal best.

Mayfield’s overall stats include 24,832 passing yards, 171 touchdowns, and 90 interceptions in 106 regular-season games with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Rams, and the Buccaneers.
