Vita Vea didn’t practice on Wednesday because of a foot injury, and now the Buccaneers have a big problem heading into their upcoming games. The 340-pound nose tackle sat out the team’s first real practice of the week, which nobody expected.
This caught everyone off guard. Vea looked fine during training camp and all the preseason games. Now, suddenly, he’s hurt right before the most important game of the year so far.
Betting sites jumped on this news fast. An overview of bitcoin betting sites shows these crypto platforms move their numbers quicker than regular sportsbooks when star players get injured. They already started changing their defensive prop bets and team rushing totals.

Foot injuries scare people when you’re talking about a guy of Vea’s size. Big defensive linemen and foot problems don’t mix well. The Bucs medical guys will have to baby him along and see if he can even walk right by Sunday.
Haason Reddick missed practice too, but that was for personal stuff, not injury. Still makes you wonder if he’ll be ready to go. Tampa Bay brought him in to rush the passer, so they need him out there.
Christian Izien couldn’t practice because of an oblique problem. Another defensive player on the shelf when they can’t afford to lose anybody else.

Chris Godwin and Tristan Wirfs were already ruled out for the opener. Godwin is still fixing his ankle from last year, and Wirfs has knee trouble. Nobody expected them to play anyway.
Benjamin Morrison couldn’t do a full practice because of his quad, and Cade Otton had groin issues slowing him down. Otton might need to catch more passes with all the receiver problems, so his health matters.
At least Josh Hays and Sean Tucker got through practice okay. Hays had ankle problems, and Tucker hurt his hand, but both guys practiced normally.
Vea has been the heart of Tampa Bay’s defense since 2018. He just had his best season with seven sacks and made the Pro Bowl again. Losing him would hurt badly against a Falcons team that wants to run the ball down their throats.
This division game just got way harder. Atlanta spent big money on their offensive line, and they have good running backs. Without Vea clogging up the middle, the Buccaneers defense could get pushed around all game long.
