The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be featured on Monday Night Football this week. It is the big spotlight game against a Houston Texans team who many believe will be in the playoffs this year. It’s a game that will be watched and bet on by football fans across the country.Â
This week I have my four favorite bets all lined up for this game. As always, feel free to pick and choose the ones you like or parlay them all together like I do. Here is my week two big Bucs gambling guide vs the Texans.
Under 42.5
This game has all the makings of a rock fight. One offensive line that has been shuffled around due to injury and one offensive line that is just plain bad. It could be a difficult day for both offenses.
Especially when you consider the defensive lines in this game. Texans Will Anderson Jr and Danelle Hunter might be the best edge rushing duo in the NFL. On the other side, the Bucs might have the best defensive tackle pair in football in Vita Vea and Calijah Kancey. It’s a mismatch in favor of both defenses.Â
Baker Mayfield Over 16.5 Rushing Yards
If I believe that Baker Mayfield is going to be under pressure in this game, then taking the over here makes sense. He is very good at eluding pass rushers and making things happen with his legs. That sets up well for the over here.
There is also the possibility of designed runs in this game. One way to handle a great edge rusher is to not block him at all and use him as the read man in option running plays. We know Mayfield has the athletic ability to sprinkle this in throughout the game.
Nico Collins Under 76.5 Receiving Yards
Nico Collins is a very good wide receiver. However, I wouldn’t call him a top tier wide receiver. So for him to have the highest over / under in receiving yards feels a little off to me.Â
I’d expect the Bucs big body corners to match up well against Collins. He should also see some over the top help from star safety Antoine Winfield Jr. Slowing down Collins will be this defense’s top priority and they will make someone else beat them.Â
Payne Durham Anytime Touchdown
The Texans have more than just great edge rushers. Their secondary is also very good. It will be a tough task to move the ball through the air in this game.Â
Obviously, Houston will look to take away Mike Evans first and foremost. Then they will also give Emeka Egbuka a lot of attention after he scored a pair of touchdowns last week in his NFL debut. The Buccaneers will likely need someone else to step up to win this game.
Houston allowed the 5th most touchdowns in the NFL to tight ends last season. And while that probably makes Cade Otton the smart play (+380), I like the value of Payne Durham better here at +1,600. I’ll take the swing at this red zone target pulling in a touchdown to juice my overall odds.Â
Total Parlay +11,184
