You Can Add Buccaneers OL Cody Mauch to the Team’s Injury List

1

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been dealing with injury issues for quite awhile now. The offensive line has been hit particularly hard with Tristan Wirfs and Luke Goedeke both on the shelf. Unfortunately we have to add another offensive lineman to this list. Bucs’ guard, Cody Mauch has a knee issue following the team’s won over Houston.

Via Fox Sports Greg Auman,

“Bowles says guard Cody Mauch has a knee injury and is a question mark for Sunday but too early to know.”

More from Todd Bowles via Greg Auman,

“Bowles said if Cody Mauch can’t go at right guard, they’re looking at all options — Elijah Klein, who has played in 18 games but mostly on special teams, Luke Haggard, who would be making his NFL debut, and even rookie tackle Ben Chukwuma.”

When it rains, it pours, right?

The Buccaneers have plenty of in-house options as Bowles points out. But the question remains, should the team add somebody if for no other reason to have depth?

The seriousness of Mauch’s injury is not known. We will keep you posted as new information becomes available.

  1. This is really concerning for the Buccaneers offensive line, which is already thin. Its tough to see another key player like Mauch going down. Hopefully, they have capable backups ready to step in and minimize the impact. The teams depth will be severely tested this week.unblock game
