The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bolstered their running back depth on Wednesday by signing Owen Wright, their leading rusher in the preseason, to the practice squad and releasing veteran guard Sua Opeta from the same unit.

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed running back Owen Wright, who was their leading rusher during the preseason, adding him to their practice squad on Wednesday. To make room on that 17-man unit, the team released guard Sua Opeta.”
The Buccaneers are without starter Bucky Irving, who’s sidelined with foot and shoulder injuries that kept him out of last week’s Seattle game. Rachaad White, Sean Tucker, and Josh Williams are active, while Wright is the sole running back on the practice squad.
