The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on top of the world with a league leading 4-1 record. However, that record is in jeopardy as they enter the heart of their schedule. The week the Bucs will play host to the San Francisco 49ers who also enter this game with a 4-1 record.

Via the team’s website,

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers activated running back Owen Wright from the practice squad on Saturday, making him eligible to play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Wright’s elevation came a day after rookie running back Josh Williams was ruled out for the game due to a concussion. With usual backfield starter Bucky Irving also sidelined by injury, Wright gives the Buccaneers a third active running back along with Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.”

Owen Wright joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on July 31, about a week into the team’s training camp. He was released during the final roster cuts in late August, but re-signed to the practice squad on October 7. As Tampa Bay’s top rusher in the preseason, Wright played all three games, accumulating 25 carries for 100 yards, along with four receptions for 12 yards and one kickoff return for 25 yards.
