It is still all in play for for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2025 NFL campaign, as we currently sit in top spot in the NFC South tied with the Carolina Panthers on a 7-7 record for the year so far.
It is actually the Panthers up next at the weekend as we go on the road to Charlotte and that will prove to be a very decisive tie indeed when it comes to a potential season extension, but many would feel that we are the slight favourites, particularly those who use the many sports betting in Pennsylvania options that are out there. After the incredibly narrow one point defeat to the Atlanta Falcons in last Friday’s clash – and all of the fallout that this created when it came to head coach Todd Bowles and the fierce criticism that he has received following the game – we will also be looking to get back on track as in reality we should not have fallen to defeat
As Bucs fans gear up for the Panthers game though, there is a new Prime Video docuseries that they can enjoy as they build up to the game. Raise the Flags recently dropped on Prime Video and it is a ten parter directed by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Trent Cooper and it takes passionate fans behind the scenes at the Raymond James Stadium for key and important events in the franchises history.
One of those moments takes us back to 1995 where the Bucs made NFL history by selecting two future Hall of Famers in the same round of the NFL draft. General Manager Rich McKay juggled a number of different trades to move us around the draft board until we were in position to pick up Warren Sapp at pick 12 and Derrick Brooks at pick 28 and the duo went on to provide the foundation for what was then to become one of the best defences of all time in the NFL.
For those fascinated with the feelings and emotions doing the rounds in the draft room and the steps and thoughts that led to history being created, that is exactly where the footage comes into play in Raise the Flags as you get to see it unfold before your eyes as it brings further life to what goes on behind the scenes at the NFL’s 27th franchise.
That is just one moment that the docuseries covers from our illustrious history and whilst the more experienced and elder fan in The Krewe will definitely relish their own trip down memory lane, it would also serve as a completely new adventure for the next generation of fans who are yet to fully learn about our own version of Florida’s pirate history.
Presented by Skydance Sports and Prime Video Sports, Raise the Flags was commissioned and produced by Buccaneers Co Owner Ed Glazer and it represents the most compelling and complete account of Bucs history that has ever been attempted in this format, featuring more than 100 interviews with current and former players, coaches, executives, staff, media personalities and others in, and associated, with the NFL and it features plenty of archival footage and historical recordings.
