I mean, this is it right? This has got to be the game to get this whole Buccaneers’ coaching staff canned. I don’t even know what that was. With a chance to solidify their playoff chances, the offense decided the forward pass was too revolutionary. The defense tried, but in the end the several stops they got weren’t enough to make up for their earlier mistakes.
To highlight some good, Jacob Parrish and Benjamin Morrison had a hell of a day. Parrish managed to stay step for step with Tetairoa McMillan on several key downs. Morrison also looked good in man coverage, which is great considering the problems McCollum has had in that arena. Rachaad White also had a great game. Averaged 9 yards per carry and forced a huge run to get the Bucs offense some life. It’s a good thing then that he only got 5 carries while Bucky ran into a brick wall.

Can I talk about it now? The offense was so unbelievably bad. Josh Grizzard called the game like he had a UDFA under center. I don’t know if he hates Baker Mayfield or didn’t realize he had his fully healthy WR corp. It was a disaster. Up until the end of the third quarter, Baker had forty yards passing. I’m not sure if we tried to bore the Panthers defense to death, but it wasn’t working. yes the Bucs had a ton of rushing yards, but it didn’t feel like the offense was going anywhere anytime soon.
And while the defense didn’t necessarily cost the Bucs, it sure didn’t help all that much at first. Bowles in his infinite wisdom once again played soft at the end of half to concede the FG because his elite defense might’ve given up a TD. Because of how soft the defense was, the Panthers scored a TD. Dean looked for the ball and by the time he found it, he lost McMillan who ran right past him. Also Logan Hall missed several key tackles because of course he did. Please God blow up this defensive line.

This team isn’t going anywhere. There is no reason to believe they can win a single game to end the year. This is including against the Quinn Ewers led Dolphins. I’m almost at the point where I want to see them lose out. Just so I can see a higher draft pick. But who cares? This season is basically over. Bowles and Grizzard are likely gone after this season. The Bucs have plenty of work to do, but there is still talent to be had. A good coaching staff can make this team a winning one next year.
