After Ravens Back Out, Could Anzalone and Gainwell Do the Same?

0

The Ravens pulling out of their trade deal got me to thinking, would any of the Buccaneers’ free agent signings may want to change their minds?

Frankly it wouldn’t shock me if either or both Alex Anzalone or Kenneth Gainwell are rethinking their own decisions in signing with the Bucs.

Now before anyone begins doing the usual fan comment about, you’re not a fan blah blah blah. I am a fan, I witnessed the team go from worst to first in 79, I cheered the 2002 teams SB victory as well as 2020 and the first team to win a SB in their own house.

The one constant between all three of those highlights is the crushing wait between them.
And for the last 5 years we have been witnessing the slow steady decline of this team again.

Now I’m old and can stick out the rest of my own life sticking to the team I spent 50 years supporting, some of the younger fans I’m not so sure they will want that kind of heartbreak.
Todd Bowles and Jason Licht certainly aren’t making it any easier being a Buccaneers’ fan.

Jason doing just enough each year to just stay as they are and Todd giving up game after game on defense (which is supposed to be his strength) have them both on the hotseat.

Both Jason and Todd have had their great moments. Without Jason we never would have gotten Mike Evans, Coach Arians or Tom Brady and our 2020 Super Bowl.

Todds Greatest moment came as a defensive coordinator not allowing the Chiefs to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

Those days now seem so long ago.
and that brings me back to Anzalone and Gainwell. Honestly if I was either of them and just saw the Ravens back out of a deal, I would be second thinking my own choices.
