Luke Goedeke has steadily developed into one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ most reliable offensive linemen. According to Pro Football Focus, he has improved his overall grade in each of his first four NFL seasons.
If that trend continues in 2026, Goedeke could begin earning recognition among the league’s top right tackles.
Paired with All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs, the Buccaneers have one of the NFL’s strongest offensive tackle duos.
Consistent Growth Has Defined Goedeke’s Career
Rather than enjoying one breakout campaign, Goedeke has built his reputation through steady year-over-year improvement.
He appeared primarily as a reserve during his rookie season, earning a 46.7 PFF grade.
After becoming a full-time starter in his second season, Goedeke posted a 73.4 grade. He followed that with a 73.8 mark in 2024 despite starting only 13 games.
In 2025, injuries limited him to 11 games, but he still recorded a career-best 75.8 grade.
While those numbers have not yet reached Pro Bowl or All-Pro territory, they suggest Goedeke continues moving in the right direction.
Durability Remains the Biggest Question
The next step in Goedeke’s development has less to do with performance and more to do with availability.
His play has consistently improved, but injuries have limited his opportunities to build on that success. Over the past two seasons, he has appeared in just 24 of Tampa Bay’s 34 regular-season games.
That raises an important question entering 2026.
Would Goedeke have maintained his career-best grade over a full season, or would a larger workload have caused his production to level off?
There is no definitive answer. Offensive linemen often battle through injuries as the season progresses, and extended wear can impact performance.
Still, Goedeke has earned the benefit of the doubt. His progression has been consistent every year he has been on the field. If he can stay healthy for an entire season, 2026 could be the year he establishes himself among the NFL’s elite right tackles.
