Healthy Buccaneers Offensive Line Could Be Tampa Bay’s Biggest Improvement in 2026

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered the 2025 season believing they had one of the NFL’s better offensive lines. Unfortunately, injuries prevented that group from ever reaching its full potential.

When the starting five were healthy, the Buccaneers showed they could protect the quarterback and establish the running game. The problem was keeping that unit on the field together.

Health Could Be the Difference in 2026

Injuries impacted nearly nearly every starter along Tampa Bay’s offensive line in 2025.

Right tackle Luke Goedeke appeared in just 11 games. Left tackle Tristan Wirfs played in only 12 contests. Left guard Ben Bredeson was also limited to 11 games, while right guard Cody Mauch was available for only two.

The constant shuffling forced the Buccaneers to adjust throughout the season, making it difficult to build continuity up front.

Graham Barton was the lone exception. He stayed healthy all season but was asked to move between center and left tackle as injuries mounted around him. While Barton handled the challenge admirably, the constant changes highlighted just how depleted the offensive line had become.

If the Buccaneers can keep this group healthy in 2026, there is every reason to believe the offensive line will take a significant step forward. The talent has never been in question. The biggest obstacle has simply been keeping the starting five on the field together long enough to develop the chemistry needed to perform at a high level.
