The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have built one of the NFL’s premier offensive lines, and national recognition continues to follow.
Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano recently ranked the league’s top offensive tackle duos entering the 2026 season, placing Tristan Wirfs and Luke Goedeke at No. 3 overall. It’s another sign that Tampa Bay boasts one of football’s strongest pairings on the edge of its offensive line.
Tristan Wirfs Continues to Set the Standard
Much of the Buccaneers’ success up front begins with Wirfs.
As Manzano pointed out, Wirfs is the only player in NFL history to earn First-Team All-Pro honors at both right tackle and left tackle, an accomplishment that highlights his rare versatility and elite talent.
After helping protect Tom Brady during the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl-winning season as a rookie in 2020, Wirfs has seamlessly transitioned into protecting Baker Mayfield.
According to Manzano, Pro Football Focus graded Wirfs among the league’s top five tackles in both pass blocking and run blocking last season, reinforcing his status as one of the NFL’s elite offensive linemen.
Luke Goedeke Has Become a Reliable Starter
While Goedeke doesn’t have the accolades that Wirfs has collected, he has quietly become one of the more dependable right tackles in the league.
Manzano noted that the Buccaneers’ decision to move Goedeke from left guard to right tackle in his second NFL season paved the way for Wirfs to shift to the left side. The move benefited both players and helped solidify Tampa Bay’s offensive line.
Goedeke’s development didn’t go unnoticed by the organization.
The Buccaneers rewarded him with a four-year, $90 million contract extension in 2025, signaling their confidence that he will remain a cornerstone of the offensive line for years to come.
The Buccaneers Have Stability at Both Tackle Spots
Finding one franchise tackle is difficult.
Having two is a luxury that few teams around the league enjoy.
With Wirfs continuing to perform at an All-Pro level and Goedeke developing into a dependable starter, the Buccaneers have established one of the NFL’s top tackle combinations.
Manzano also noted that Wirfs could eventually be in line for another contract, as his current extension contains no guaranteed money beyond the 2026 season.
For now, though, Tampa Bay can take comfort knowing its two most important offensive line positions are occupied by one of the league’s highest-ranked duos.
A No. 3 ranking from Sports Illustrated is further proof that the Buccaneers remain among the NFL’s best where it all begins—protecting the quarterback and controlling the line of scrimmage.
