According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Buccaneers’ rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels will get an extended opportunity tonight.
“Bucs plan to start rookie QB Jalon Daniels and play him the first half and maybe more tonight vs. Jacksonville. He will be followed by Jake Browning and Connor Bazelak. Daniels is making legit run at No. 2.”
Daniels is expected to start against Jacksonville and play the entire first half. He could potentially see even more action in the game.
The rookie spent six years at the University of Kansas. During that time, Daniels embodied what it meant to be a Jayhawk.
He was a class act both on and off the field. Daniels also continued giving everything he had, even when he wasn’t at full health.
Now, Daniels has an opportunity to continue making his case with the Buccaneers. The rookie is getting his chance to show what he can bring to Tampa Bay.
If Tampa Bay’s coaching staff can improve his pocket presence, accuracy, and decision-making while helping him better protect the football, Daniels has the tools to develop into much more than an undrafted free agent.
