The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reached the 53-man roster limit. Now, the team is continuing to build out its practice squad.
Tampa Bay is bringing back a familiar face after Sunday’s roster cuts. Second-year running back Josh Williams is returning to the Buccaneers’ practice squad, according to Fox Sports’ Greg Auman.
Josh Williams Returns to Tampa Bay
Auman reported that Williams will serve as the team’s RB4. The running back previously competed with Sean Tucker for the third spot throughout the preseason.
“Second-year running back Josh WIlliams, cut by the Bucs on Sunday, is back on the Tampa Bay practice squad as the team’s RB4. Competed with Sean Tucker for third spot in preseason.”
Williams and Tucker had a great battle for the RB3 position during training camp. Tucker ultimately won the spot by a hair, but Williams remains in the organization.
Now, Williams will have another opportunity to continue competing within Tampa Bay’s running back room.
