Buckle Up Buccaneers Fans, Another Todd Bowles Roller Coaster Is Coming

0

2026 will be the 5th season that the Buccaneers will be led by Todd Bowles. His win loss record is 35-33 in the regular season and 1-3 in the postseason.

Those numbers alone really don’t tell the whole story however. In the four years since he’s been the head coach there have been some very interesting, some would say startling trends:

  • 17 one-score wins
  • 19 one-score losses
  • 13 blowout wins
  • 6 blowout losses

And his teams have had 10 winning streaks of at least two games and seven losing streaks of at least two games.

Most importantly, every single season has contained a losing streak of at least three games, and three of the four seasons featured a four-game losing streak.

When you look at his record each month it’s the following:

Home

  • September 5-3
  • October 2-6
  • November 5-2
  • December 4-5

Away

  • September 6-0
  • October 4-5
  • November 1-7
  • December 5-4

Assuming this trend continues and considering the Bucs play three of their first games at home. We should expect the following to occur in 2026:

  • September 3-0
  • October 2-2
  • November 2-2
  • December 2-2
  • January 1-1

2026 Total

  • 10-7
Is that a scientific prediction? Absolutely not. There are too many variables in the NFL — injuries, quarterback play, strength of schedule, turnovers and a million other things that can change the outcome of a football game.
But it’s an interesting glimpse into what a typical Todd Bowles season has looked like over the first four years. And if those trends continue, Bucs fans should probably buckle up.
We’re in for another roller coaster of emotions.
There will be frustration, there will be excitement. There will probably be at least one stretch where everyone is ready to fire everybody. And there will be another stretch where we’re all convinced this team can beat anybody.

Buckle up Buc fans. Its gonna be another roller-coaster of emotions but the Bucs win the division and host a playoff game!

Of all the NFL teams that I could follow, why did I choose the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? It was 1979, I was an impressionable 12-year-old living in Canada. At that time, getting any NFL coverage was tough enough but that was reserved for the elite teams like the Cowboys, Steelers etc. I watched one game at 1 PM and one game at 4 PM. That was it. No Redzone, no night games on Sunday Each Christmas my family would drive from Montreal to visit my aunt in Jacksonville. I remember seeing the Bucs playing on TV against the Falcons when I was there. I saw something that day that changed my fandom forever. There was a QB wearing number 12, in an orange jersey and he wasn’t white! As a minority myself, seeing a non-white QB was something that immediately I was drawn to. I knew that this was the team, and this was the guy who I would follow. The years between 1979 and 1997 were obviously difficult but my fandom never wavered. If anything, it made me stronger as a person. I’ve often joked that I’ve had 3 wives but only ONE football team. I was asked if I wanted to write the occasional article for Bucs Report. Talking and writing about the Bucs is a full-time hobby so of course my answer was YES. I’m 56, retired and living in Costa Rica now. I sport 4 Buc tattoos and have been fortunate to make many visits to Tampa to watch the Bucs. I’ve made countless friends and even more memories. I look forward to chatting and interacting with the many Buccaneer fans throughout the world. Go Bucs Greg D’Cruz
