MRI Shows Jalen McMillan Suffered PCL Sprain

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan suffered a knee injury early in Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The injury occurred to the same knee McMillan previously injured during training camp. That injury already forced him to miss multiple weeks and Tampa Bay’s season opener.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine provided an update on McMillan’s latest injury.

“It’s a PCL sprain for Bucs wide receiver Jalen McMillan, per source. The second opinion will give much more clarity on the timetable for recovery, but the early thinking is this could be 6-8 weeks, which factors in his previous timetable.”

McMillan Facing Another Extended Absence

McMillan’s second opinion should provide more clarity regarding his recovery timeline. The early expectation is that he could miss six to eight weeks.

That timeline also factors in the previous injury to the same knee. McMillan had only recently returned to game action before suffering the latest setback.

The injury is a significant blow for Tampa Bay’s receiving corps. McMillan was expected to take on a larger role after returning from his previous knee injury.
