Week Four Big Buccaneers Gambling Guide

0

There is a good bet that you’ve been disappointed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season. They are a winless team who will now be without their starting quarterback for the next few weeks. There has been so much bad that it’s been hard to find joy in the team.

One way that I still find joy is betting on this team. I like making money, so even when the team is bad I can still use them to that end. However, it does admittedly feel harder to predict what this team will do with a back up undrafted rookie quarterback.

To be clear, I would advise people not to bet on this game. We can assume the Packers will key in on the running game and we don’t know how effective this offense can really be, even against a bad team. But where is the fun in that?

This week I am leaning into the volatility and unpredictability. These could be my longest odds of the year and I love it. Check them out below in my week four big Buccaneers gambling guide.

Sean Tucker anytime touchdown +1600

Tucker has barely seen the field this season. He’s the third running back on the roster and was projected to be the short yardage guy. He’s also the fastest and most explosive running back that this team has.

This week might be the week we see him more. With volatility at quarterback, it makes sense to run the ball more. And in a game that points might be hard to come by, the big play spark that Tucker provides could get him on the field.

Even if the offense crawls all the way down inside the five yard line, do they want a banged up Bucky Irving taking those goal line snaps or do they want the more densely built Tucker doing the job they always had lined up for him? It’s a longshot, but I see the path for a Tucker touchdown this weekend.

Ted Hurst anytime touchdown +500

Hurst got his first touchdown of the season last week. His level of play so far has warranted consistent playing time, even if Jalen McMillan hadn’t gotten injured. Expect to see this rookie on the field early and often this week.

It’s also worth noting that Jalon Daniels probably has more chemistry built up with Hurst than any other wide receiver on the roster. As depth players entering the season, they played a good deal of snaps together in the Bucs preseason games. They also got a decent amount of practice time together.

Between this chemistry and the great size and catch radius of Hurst, I like the idea of Hurst finding the end zone.

Green Bay defensive touchdown +750

We have to be honest about what we’re walking into this weekend. It’s an undrafted rookie cornerback making his first start in the NFL. There are going to be mistakes made.

I like Daniels. I like that he has six years of college experience, I like his mobility and I like his arm strength. Despite that, I can’t expect him to come in and play like a savvy NFL veteran.

Daniels will have highs on Sunday. I’m sure he’ll have a few nice runs and at least one throw that makes me get up out of my seat. There will also be a few crushing mistakes. I’m just taking a flyer that one of those mistakes will wind up in the end zone.

Buccaneers Moneyline +150

The Bucs are home underdogs to a Packers team that has looked every bit as bad as Tampa Bay this year. I get the logic here with a backup quarterback. However, it’s not like the starting quarterback wasn’t already playing like an undrafted rookie anyway.

This Buccaneers roster is good. They will shut down this Green Bay running game and pressure Jordan Love. If Daniels can do anything through the air to compliment this strong Bucs run game then I can easily see them walking away with a win on Sunday.
