Predicted Stat Line: Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin vs Green Bay

0

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Chris Godwin enters Week Four looking for his biggest performance of the young season.

Through three games, Godwin has caught 10 passes for 111 yards. He has been targeted 11 times without recording a touchdown.

Godwin’s production has declined each week, making Sunday an opportunity to reverse that trend. He caught four passes against Cincinnati, three against Cleveland and three against Minnesota.

Predicted Stat Line for Chris Godwin vs Green Bay

– Targets: 9-12
– Receptions: 7-9
– Receiving Yards: 75-100
– Receiving Touchdowns: 0-1
– Rushing Attempts: 0-1
– Rushing Yards: 0-5

Key Factors Influencing

The biggest factor is Jalon Daniels making his first NFL start. The rookie quarterback could benefit from having a reliable veteran target available underneath.

Godwin has caught 90.9% of his targets this season. Tampa Bay’s official website also identified him as a potential go-to target for Daniels.

The Packers have allowed the 10th-fewest passing yards in the NFL. Green Bay is surrendering 202 passing yards per game.

That could make efficiency more important than explosive plays. Godwin’s ability to consistently win shorter and intermediate routes could become particularly valuable.

Godwin has also historically produced against Green Bay. He has totaled 337 yards on 22 receptions across four regular-season and postseason meetings.

His ankle injury is worth monitoring, though he returned to full practice Thursday. He remained limited Friday but was not ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Final Stat Predictions

– Targets: 11
– Receptions: 8
– Receiving Yards: 91
– Receiving Touchdowns: 1
– Rushing Attempts: 1
– Rushing Yards: 3

Godwin has not found the end zone yet this season. Daniels could lean on him heavily during his first NFL start.

The matchup should also give Tampa Bay opportunities to use Godwin’s reliability against Green Bay’s secondary. I expect his most productive game of the season.

Prediction: 8 receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown, with one carry for three yards.
