Tampa had brought Russell in Tuesday for a workout and are likely to sign him to the practice squad in the near future. Russell is a former Cowboys’ fifth-round selection in last year’s draft. The second year DE was among those in the final Roster cuts this year. New England had brought him in for a workout recently but did not offer a contract. With Jacquies Smith out for the season, it only makes sense that Tampa would look to add depth in that position.
Russell has played in one game in 2015 but did not record any stats.
