Tampa hires ex-tight end as pro scout.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired Alex Smith, former NFL TE, as their new pro scout.

Smith played for 11 years during his NFL career, his first four being with the Buccaneers. Tampa drafted Smith in the third round of the 2005 draft and he went on to catch 129 passes for 1252 yards and 11 touchdowns during his time in Tampa. Since playing in Tampa he has played with the Browns, the Eagles, the Bengals, and the Redskins.

The former NFL tight end was working with the Buccaneers during last season’s training camp.
