The first round of the 2018 NFL draft begins Thursday night, from Arlington, TX. The Bucs pick seventh.
Even with the loss of Doug Martin, I firmly believe the Bucs need to go defense with their first pick, defensive back to be specific.
I think the Buccaneers will select Derwin James out of Florida State with that seventh pick. Minkah Fitzpatrick from Alabama would also be a home run pick in the first round, but realistically speaking, I think they will grab James.
If the front office decides to go another direction, how about grabbing a defensive linemen, such as Taven Bryan out of Florida, however, I think it’s a safe bet that Jason Licht wants to draft a safety, considering the safety position has been a problem for the defense, especially since the legend of the Tampa 2 defense, Monte Kiffin left for Tennessee a decade ago.
