Preseason Week 3 Preview – Lions @ Bucs

So the third, and most important preaseason game is coming up against the Detroit Lions on Friday. So far, the Bucs have played impressively, hopefully they can keep up the good work.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will receive more playing time in this game than in the last two contests. He did not play badly, in the last game against the Titans, but hopefully he can be as sharp as he was against Miami in the first preseason contest.

Jameis Winston has played incredibly well so far. Look for him to continue where he left off.

Starting runningback, Peyton Barber, is another player who has stood out so far. He should receive about 10 – 12 carries in this upcoming contest. He already has solidified his starting position, yet it would be highly concerning to see him struggle this time.

One player to keep an eye on, once again, is rookie running back Ronald Jones. The rookie has struggled mightily so far and is looking to finally break a few big runs and increase his yards per carry, which is less than 1 yard at the moment.

In addition to that, the defense as a whole will be interesting to watch. Holding the Lions offense without a Touchdown in the first half should be a goal for this game. Furthermore, a sack or two from our first unit defense would be nice.

Hopefully, rookie MJ Stewart, who left the game against the Titans with a foot injury, will be able to play again. Stewart has been a positive surprise so far for the Buccaneers. Also, it looks like we will have to wait even longer for first round pick Vita Vea to make his debut for the Bucs, as he will most likely not suit up on Friday, again.
