That is what GM Jason Licht and the Glazer family need to be, and it is time for some changes, specifically the removal of Mike Smith as a start.
Dirk Koetter seemed to be making executive decisions on the behalf of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization when he said that everyone needs to be fired, including himself. But I do not believe everyone needs to go.
But, but, but, we can’t keep changing coaches every two or three years and expect to win. Well, it wasn’t working then, and it’s not working now. Aside from a 9-7 season and 3 exciting games, I’m not so sure it’s going to get any better.
Someone needs to answer for this mess we have on offense and defense. I heard a rumor that Koetter was making the calls on Sunday. I cannot confirm or deny that; what I can do is say it sure didn’t look like the offense we saw in the first 3 games. We need some changes and need them fast. I would get rid of everyone except Brenston Buckner, but we know there’s no way that many moves will be made during the season. It would be a blockbuster move no one has ever seen before in history.
If I were the Glazer family I would put the pressure on Jason Licht’s neck and force him to make drastic changes or prepare to pack his bags. And just because he received a 1-year contract extension on the offseason doesn’t make him safe.
I know it was only the 4th game of the season, but we cannot go into Chicago and allow 48 points scored on our defense. A safe bet would be hitting the free agency and stockpiling secondary players. The more the merrier. Cap is an issue, but there is no shortage of CB and DBs left out there. So what’s the problem? Adding a running back would be nice because ROJO is who we thought he was.
Despite all the faith I have for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I can’t have faith in the majority of our current regime, especially when getting blowout by the Bears. We still have the Panthers, Bengals, Ravens and the Saints left to play. If our defense can’t stop Mitch Trubisky and the Bears, then we are in for another horrific season and everyone gets fired anyway. Save your job, Licht! Make a move!
