Last season Gabbert was with the Tenneessee Titans in place of an injured Marcus Mariota. In the three games he started he threw for 606 yards, 4 TD, and 4 INT.
He will now compete for the primary backup QB role with Ryan Griffin. This signing further goes along with the Bucs notion of making sure franchise QB Jameis Winston doesn’t have to look over his shoulder. Not a problem here. Even though both have the ability to be a good backup, neither are a threat to Winston’s starting role.
