The Hyundai Youth Football Camp, which is in its 4th year, gives local youth the opportunity to play, interact, and learn basic football drills with some of their favorite NFL players.
This year Hyundai will host six such camps throughout the league this off-season, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the first stop. Leading the Bucs first Hyundai Youth Camp is TE O.J. Howard.
About 400 local Tampa Bay youth participated that day at AdventHealth Training Center’s indoor practice facility. Howard seemed more than happy to lead the event, and even a bit nostalgic saying,
“It’s always awesome to do something that when I was a young kid I loved to do. I used to love going to camps. And guys who were in the NFL, come back and have camps. And I know how it feels to be in their shoes.
I know there’s hope. Because I was that kids that was going to camps. Everybody was saying ‘you can be good one day, you know’. And I say the same thing to them.” (Per Buccaneers.com)
While these kids get the opportunity of the Summer, their parents get a little fun too. While their kids are inside running drills, they get the test drive some of Hyundai’s new cars out front. Not a bad way to start out the Summer for these Tampa Bay families.
