Jason Pierre-Paul looks to be targeting week 8 to return to the Buccaneers. The 30 year old linebacker was involved in a single-car crash back in May of this year. Pierre-Paul suffered a fracture in his neck as a result of the early morning accident.
The Buccaneers subsequently put Pierre-Paul on the non-football injury list. That move made him ineligible to play for the first 6 weeks of the NFL season.
Tampa Bay recently restructured Pierre-Paul’s contract reducing it from $13.65 million for this season to $10.00 million for this season.
The Buccaneers pass rush has been much improved under new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, it’ll be interesting to see how Pierre-Paul will fit and play in Bowles system.
