Buccaneers Well Represented on PFT’s List of Top 100 Free Agents

0

Pro Football Talk released a list of the top 100 free agents for 2020. The list seen here is short on surprises. There are three quarterbacks at the very top/ Dak Prescott, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady. On the list at number seven is Jameis Winston and Shaq Barrett at number nine. Other than the Dallas Cowboys, who also have two in the top 10 (number five Amari Cooper), Tampa Bay is the only other team with two. There are in fact five Buccaneers in the top 100. There are a lot of decisions to be made.

Does Anybody Want My Job

Somewhere in the offices at One Buc Place, Jason Licht is no doubt hard at work. With a little bit of 2020 cap space to work with and a team that showed potential last season, defining, then signing the right pieces to keep that momentum going is the key. Just look at the five Buccaneer free agents who made the list. Jameis Winston, Shaq Barrett, Breshad Perriman, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Ndamukong Suh. The potential of that cap space starts to dwindle fast. That 2019 team chemistry starts to become a 2020 priority.

In Case You Noticed

Just look at #83 on the free-agent list. It is none other than five-time Pro Bowler and 2010 Defensive Rookie of the Year, Ndamukong Suh. Right ahead of him at #82 is six-time Pro Bowler and former Buccaneer, Gerald McCoy.

One has to start to wonder if fate is involved between these two defensive linemen? Suh drafted number two overall in 2010. McCoy right behind at three. McCoy left the Buccaneers last offseason and was replaced by Suh that same week. Now, @Geraldini93 is listed one spot AHEAD of the @NdamukongSuh at 82 and 83. That means nothing at the end of the day. Or does it?

One thing is for sure, Licht and the Buccaneer brass definitely have their work cut out for them this offseason. Starting with the combine in Indianapolis. Let’s get to work fellas.
