The NFL has proposed cutting their preseason games in half, from four games to two games, per Pro Football Talk. Given the late start to training camp, the slashing of games would allow players and teams more time to train.

What does this mean for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? The Bucs will host the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans if week two and three are the same, per Greg Auman.
Not only will this change give the teams the time they need to prepare. It helps the stadiums ensure the locker rooms and seating areas are safe.
Week one of the NFL preseason is now scheduled for Aug. 20-24. The second and final week is scheduled for Aug. 27-31. Each team will play one home game and one on the road, per @SeifertESPN.
