Recapping the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Final Cuts

0

Within the last 48 hours, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made the necessary cuts to get down to the initial 53-man roster. Although, the roster you see today may not be the roster at the start of the season. Between waiver claims, injured reserve placements, and free agent signings, this team could look much different come September 13th when the Buccaneers open against the New Orleans Saints. The players the Buccaneers have officially released or waived are:

QB Reid Sinnett
RB Raymond Calais
RB Dare Ogunbowale
WR Josh Pearson
WR Bryant Mitchell
WR Spencer Schnell
WR Cyril Grayson
TE Tanner Hudson
TE Codey McElroy
OG Nick Leverett
OG Zack Bailey
OC Zach Shackleford
OC A.Q. Shipley
DL Benning Potoa’e
DL Jeremiah Ledbetter
DL Kyle Love
LB Kahzin Daniels
LB Michael Divinity Jr
LB Chapelle Russell
LB Noah Dawkins
CB Mazzi Wilkins
CB Herb Miller
S D’Cota Dixon
S Javon Hagan
K Matt Gay

S Justin Evans (PUP)

The Buccaneers did not officially sign running back Leonard Fournette, so they sat at 79 players coming into the cuts. Fournette will most likely sign Sunday after some players are placed on injured reserve (IR). Unlike seasons prior, player can come off IR in just three weeks. Offensive guard John Molchon and wide receiver John Hurst will be placed on IR as first reported by Greg Auman, which frees up at least two roster spots. The Buccaneers also freed up cap space today with a restructuring of Mike Evans contract, so they could be in the market for waiver claims or free agents released today. One thing is for sure, this roster will not be the same come Monday.
