Coming off another great game, Buccaneers rookie safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is up for this weeks Pepsi Rookie of the Week. He has been a very big part of what this Buccaneers team has done defensively these past two weeks. Against Carolina he had 11 tackles, a sack, and a force fumble.

The aggressive approach defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has displayed over the last two weeks plays to a lot of the strengths of this Bucs defense. Particularly starting safeties in Jordan Whitehead and Winfield Jr. This morning on NFL Now, Winfield Jr. said one of his goals for the season was to be defensive rookie of the year. If he can sustain his level of play thus far, that award isn’t just a dream.
