The Tampa Bay Buccaneers approached Mike Evans prior to signing wide receiver Antonio Brown. During a post game press conference after the Monday night Giants game, Evans commented on giving the team his approval. Evans explained that the team did approach him for his opinion before Brown was signed. He later elaborated on his praise of Browns’ talent and approval of the signing.
There is no word right now on whether or not the team also approached Chris Godwin for his feelings on the matter. The team has presented a united front regarding this signing. There is no reason to expect dissent from anyone in the locker room.
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has been effusive in his praise of Antonio Brown since he arrived at the Buccaneers facility. Brown has been activated and will be available to play versus the New Orleans Saints this Sunday.
