Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey Likely Out Against Buccaneers Sunday

Carolina Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey is likely out ahead of Sunday’s divisional matchup against the Buccaneers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that McCaffrey suffered a shoulder injury last Sunday and is considered week-to-week. It is also reported that McCaffrey will get a second opinion on his shoulder injury.

McCaffrey suffered an ankle injury in their week two matchup against the Buccaneers. sidelining him until last week. In his return to action against Kansas City, McCaffrey had 18 rushing attempts for 69 yards and 10 receptions for 82 yards and a score. Speaking on the injury front as it pertains to the Buccaneers, this bodes well for Tampa Bay matchup wise.

Look for running back Mike Davis for Carolina to take over the backfield. Without McCaffrey as a runner and a pass-catcher, Carolina will have to rely on other skill players. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Carolina Panthers in their second meeting of 2020 at 1 PM Sunday and will look to get the sweep over Carolina.
