The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were A.Q. Shipley’s sixth NFL team on his resume. That resume as a player seems to have ended today.
Arians said A.Q. Shipley "really shouldn't play any more" after suffering a neck injury in Monday's game. Said he will be going on season-ending injured reserve and "starting his coaching career."

Shipley did a great job filing in for center Ryan Jensen when he was moved to guard. Some would argue he excelled and even pushed for Jensen’s spot fulltime. Unfortunately we’ll never know as Shipley is having season-ending surgery and will be placed on injured reserve.
During his Friday press conference, head coach Bruce Arians gave the grim news. Not just that Shipley is done for the season, but that his playing career is over. Arians did elude to keeping Shipley around as a coach in some capacity. What title he will have is still unknown.
