Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defensive back Carlton Davis has had an up and down 2020 season. On one hand, Davis leads the Buccaneers in interceptions. On the other hand he leads the league in pass interference calls.
Davis has been nursing a groin injury and did not practice Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said on SiriusXM NFL Radio that it’s looking like Davis will miss Saturday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
“Carlton Davis is going to go right to the wire. He might could have played if it was another day of rest,” Arians stated.
The Buccaneers will treat Davis as a gametime decision. If he isn’t ready to play, look for Jamel Dean to fill in for him.

Davis missed practice again today (Thursday).
No Carlton Davis at Bucs practice again today, so it seems he won’t be able to go Saturday vs. Lions with his groin injury. Winfield seems fine, so Ronald Jones (still on COVID reserve) is the only other key absence.
